Curriculum

We believe that at Training Wheels Childcare every child deserves a chance to learn new material each day. Our children here can learn about diversity, communication skills, writing, reading, letter recognition and more. We base our curriculum off kindergarten readiness, and we make sure to also include learning material on nature, so our children have a chance to explore the outdoors. We love when our children can use imaginary play as well as dramatic play. This helps children think outside the box later in life. When we encourage our children to use their imagination more, it helps them learn problem solving later in life and as a young child.

Age Groups

Infants & Waddlers

Infants

(6 weeks to 12 months)

Each infant is cared for according to his/her own schedule and needs. Pretoddlers are gradually moved to a more regular nap and meal schedule the older they get. The infant/pretoddlers curriculum includes activities conducted throughout the day as time and your child’s interest permits. Developmental toys are always available for the infant’s free play. Our experienced teachers pay close attention to your infants every need. Our 6-week babies - 6 months are in our non-mobile room, while our 6 month - 12 months are in the waddler room.

Toddlers

Toddlers

(12 months to 24 months)

It is amazing to watch these babies transition into toddlers. They are now exploring new things, walking and more. Our teachers try to stay on the same schedule everyday to allow easy transitions for our toddlers. They all have the same breakfast, lunch, and snack schedule. Our nap time is from 12:00 – 2:00 pm. We have a big selection of learning centers that we provide for our children throughout the day.

Early Preschool

Early Preschool

(Two’s)

Your child is learning various of different words and adding new vocabulary daily. They slowly learn to become independent but still require a lot of attention throughout the day. We offer multiple learning centers, circle time, crafts and more for this age group. Our teachers are constantly on the move and giving all their attention to our children. Our highly trained staff work very hard to help your child/children become potty trained. This group keeps us on our toes but is such a fun/loving group as well.

Preschool

Preschool

(Three’s and Four’s)

This group is full of adventures, fun, learning and more. Outside activities are incorporated in their everyday lessons. We try to be outside more than inside, as weather permits. This group of children loves to explore and learn new things each day. Our preschool teachers have a lot of background with children and teaching students. They take a lot of pride in having a program that is based on kindergarten readiness, so your child is more than ready to start elementary school. There is a lot of hands-on activities that includes making books, cutting, gluing, painting and more. We have a huge variety of educational centers that teach our children, patterns, shapes, letters, numbers and so much more. Our preschool educators teach them how to write, spell, write their names, numbers, and sight words. It is very important that this group of students start to become more independent, to get them prepared for school.
